Mogra Attar | Authentic Indian Attar | Handcrafted in Kannauj
Romantic. Floral. Gentle.
Mogra Attar is a soft, sweet floral oil made from fresh jasmine flowers. It has a rich, creamy scent that feels romantic and calming. Just a drop can fill the air with the gentle fragrance of blooming white flowers on a summer evening.
Traditionally used in India for relaxation and rituals, Mogra attar is perfect for those who love natural, delicate scents that stay close to the skin.
Ā
How Itās Made (Traditional Method):Ā
Mogra Attar is traditionally made in Kannauj, a small town in Uttar Pradesh, India. Known as the āperfume capital of India,ā Kannauj has been making natural attars for centuries using age-old methods.
-
Fresh Mogra flowers (Jasminum sambac) are handpicked, usually in the early morning when their scent is strongest.
-
These flowers are then placed in large copper vessels called deg along with water.
-
The vessel is heated gently, and the fragrant steam is collected through pipes and passed into a receiver filled with base oil.
-
Over many hours (sometimes even days), the mogra scent gets absorbed into the base oil.
-
The process is repeated daily with fresh flowers until the desired strength is achieved. This method is called hydro-distillation or deg-bhapka technique.
